Robert Coleman is a guitarist and educator based in the DMV area. After graduating from the University of Maryland in 2015 with a B.M. Degree in jazz guitar, he has played as a sideman for such local groups as Laissez Foure, Well Played, and The Capitol Focus Jazz Band. These playing situations have provided Robert with a wealth of experience in styles of music ranging from Traditional Jazz and Bebop to Blues, Rock, and Musical Theater. Robert also specializes in playing solo guitar arrangements and has a large repertoire of Jazz Standards by such great composers as Hoagie Carmichael, Jerome Kern, Duke Ellington, Billy Strayhorn, Thelonious Monk, and Horace Silver. Robert teaches guitar both privately and in group classes such as the one he teaches at the Washington Waldorf School in Bethesda, Maryland.
